GIVING EXAMPLES

  when we write, we use e.g. to give examples.

 e.g. is an abbreviation from Latin 'exampli gratia'. It means 'for example'. 
              It indicates that one or more examples follow of what has been mentioned on general form. 

 1. The shop sells popular pets,e.g.dogs and cats.

 2. It is cheaper to travel by public transport,e.g.buses and trains.

 3. Students are encouraged to use good dictionaries,e.g.Oxford or         Cambridge.
